How we test
Every product we sell is tested before it leaves our door. Our goal is simple: when you receive an item, it should be in working, usable condition, unless the listing clearly states otherwise.
Below is exactly what each item goes through before we list it.
How we test games
Every game is powered on and tested through to the main menu screen. For titles that require installation to a drive, we complete that installation as part of testing to confirm the disc or cartridge reads correctly and loads without errors.
How we test consoles
Each console is:
- Powered on and tested with a game to confirm it reads and runs media correctly
- Factory reset, so it arrives clean of any previous owner's data and settings
- Cleaned with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, grime, and leftover adhesive
A note on cleaning: isopropyl alcohol removes the large majority of buildup, but some marks, residue, or adhesive from previous ownership can be too stubborn to fully remove. Where that's the case, we'd rather leave it in place than risk damaging the hardware.
Note: We don't test ethernet ports as part of our process. If online or wired connectivity is important to you, we'd recommend factoring that in before purchase.
Items we don't test
Some items, such as PC games, DVDs, and similar, either can't be practically tested or aren't feasible for us to check individually. Any item we haven't tested will be clearly marked as untested in its description, so you always know what you're buying.
Our 14-day guarantee
We stand behind everything we test. If a tested item arrives faulty or stops working as described, you're covered by a 14-day return window from the date you receive it. Just get in touch and we'll be happy to make it right. This guarantee covers faults only, and doesn't apply to items listed as untested or sold as-is, since those are always clearly marked before purchase.
